There are many different Cat 5 tools available to make your work easier including the trusty cat 5 crimping tool. When you are installing cat 5 cables or searching for installation errors it is recommended that you use the proper tools for each job. There are numerous projects on the market and it is difficult to know which to use.

Digital multimeters are generally not very expensive and are very helpful when you are installing cat 5 cables. GFI receptacle testers are a great tool for testing for the most common wiring mistakes that you will encounter. If you are installing cat 5 cables for use in a telephone line, you’ll need the cat 5 tool called a phone bug. The phone bug can test up to a four line phone system as well as LAN connections.
